Privacy Policy

StellarCortex HQ ("StellarCortex", "the software") is open-source software for running teams of AI agents, and it runs on your own computer. The software and this website are operated by Avi Twil ("we"). This policy explains what information is collected, why, and what your rights are. In short: your data stays with you.

1. This website

• No cookies, analytics, ads or third-party trackers. Fonts are self-hosted too.
• Your light/dark theme choice is kept only in your browser (localStorage) and is never sent anywhere.
• Our web server keeps no access logs. Our hosting provider (Hostinger) may process IP addresses at the network level for security and operations, under its own policy.

2. The software on your computer

• Companies, agents, tasks, memories and files are stored locally in ~/.stellarcortex on your computer. They are not sent to us.
• No telemetry. The software sends us no usage data, statistics or automatic crash reports.
• Keys, passwords and subscriptions you connect are stored encrypted on your computer, separately for each user. Even the owner of an installation cannot read another user's secrets.

3. Connections you choose to turn on

The software reaches the internet only in these cases, and only when you enable them:

• Model providers (e.g. Anthropic, OpenAI, Google): agents send them the content they work on, using your account or key. That use is governed by the provider's own terms and privacy policy. We do not see this content.
• Update checks: if enabled, the software downloads a signed version file from our website. No identifying data is sent beyond the ordinary network request.
• External tools you add to agents (e.g. MCP servers): governed by those services' terms.

4. Sign in with Google

If you choose "Continue with Google", the software asks Google only for the basic scopes openid, email, profile. It receives your email address, name and profile picture and uses them only to identify you when you sign in to your own installation. This information is stored locally on your computer, is not sent to us, is not used for advertising and is not shared with anyone. Sign-in happens directly between your computer and Google.

StellarCortex's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. You can revoke access at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.

5. "Report a problem"

This is the only information that reaches us, and only when you press "Send":

• What you wrote, any screenshots you attached, and an email address if you chose to leave one for our reply.
• Short technical details: app version, operating system and recent error lines. Before sending they are cleaned on your computer of keys, passwords, email addresses and paths containing your username, and you see them before they are sent.
• Screenshots are stripped of hidden metadata (EXIF). Reports are stored encrypted on our server and deleted 90 days after they are closed. Your IP address is used only for temporary rate limiting and is not stored.
• This information is used only to handle your report and improve the software. It is never sold or shared.

6. Your rights

You may ask to see, correct or delete any information you gave us, for example a report by its report ID. Data on your own computer is yours to delete: uninstall with --purge-data or remove the ~/.stellarcortex folder.

7. Children

The software is not intended for anyone under 16.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top of this page. Material changes will also appear in the release notes.
